PDA Magazine, a publication specialising in tourism, aviation and regional development, is launching its seventh edition with a wide range of exclusive content, interviews with key players in the sector and an editorial that directly challenges public policy makers.
Under the title ‘Social tourism is a human right’, the editorial signed by executive director Sergio Antonio Herrera, marks a strong position: tourism cannot be reduced to a commercial activity, and must be recognised as a tool for social inclusion and human development.
This new edition features exclusive interviews with leading tourism and business figures.
Among them, Gloria Guevara, candidate for the Secretary General of UN Tourism, reaffirms: ‘I am going to be Secretary General’, in an in-depth and unconditional conversation. It also highlights the participation of Commander Antonio Rama, CEO of SUA Airlines, who announces the start of operations before the end of the year with a fleet of Airbus A220/300, betting on a more modern and sustainable regional connectivity.
The publication includes a rigorous analysis of the current state of tourism in Latin America, by international consultant Antonio Santos del Valle, with recent data and a critical look at the structural challenges. In addition, lawyer and academic Julio Facal explores the need for clear, modern tourism laws based on principles of sustainability, accessibility and quality.
There are also reports from Paraguay, with an interview with José Carlos Brunetti from Maral Turismo; and a review of the role of Uruguayan television in the promotion of tourism, with the participation of sector leaders in the renowned programme Puglia Invita.
