Marco Antonio Abastoflor Portugal is an outstanding professional in the field of tourism and sustainable development, with a solid academic background backed by a Master of Science degree. Currently, he is head of the Department of Tourism Administration at the Bolivian Catholic University “San Pablo”, where he leads educational initiatives related to tourism. In addition, he collaborates as a lecturer in the UNESCO Chair of Tourism and Economic and Sustainable Development at the University of La Palma de Gran Canaria.

His international experience is remarkable, as he teaches at the University Institute of Tourism and Sustainable Economic Development in Spain and has taught the “TIDES Seminar” linked to the UNESCO Chair. Abastoflor is also coordinator of the Teaching Circle of the Pan-American Confederation of Hotel and Tourism Schools (CONPEHT) and a member of the board of directors of the Movimiento de Integración Gastronómico Alimentario (MIGA), where he contributes to the strengthening of gastronomic tourism.

He is also a founding member of the Ibero-American Sustainable Tourism Network (RITS), which reflects his commitment to the promotion of responsible and sustainable tourism in the region. His trajectory positions him as a reference in the integration of tourism, sustainability and economic development in Latin America and Europe.
