The initiative is organized by the National Chamber of Tourism in coordination with the Commission for the Promotion of Peru for Exports and Tourism, institutions that highlighted the steady growth of the event and the increasing interest from international companies in including Peru in their travel catalogues and tourism circuits. Expectations for this year’s edition surpass previous results and further consolidate Peru Travel Mart as a key platform for boosting the national tourism economy.
So far, the participation of 197 international business representatives and 10 specialized media outlets has been confirmed. They will arrive from countries such as the United States, Canada, Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Spain, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Italy, the United Kingdom, China and India, among other important tourism markets for Peru. In addition, Australia joins this year as a new participating market, expanding international promotion opportunities and diversification for the Peruvian tourism sector.
Maritza Montero, president of the organizing committee of Peru Travel Mart 2026, stated that this edition represents a major step forward for strengthening Peru’s tourism industry. She also emphasized that all goals established for the event have been exceeded, consolidating Peru Travel Mart as a strategic showcase where local companies can directly present their services and experiences to highly specialized international buyers.
The event will allow hotels, tour operators, travel agencies, transportation companies, experience organizers and representatives from regional destinations to present innovative proposals focused on cultural, gastronomic, adventure, nature and luxury tourism. It also aims to strengthen the promotion of emerging destinations with strong growth potential and increasing appeal among international travelers.
One of the most significant aspects of this edition will be the continued promotion of tourism decentralization through familiarization trips organized after the business meetings. More than one hundred international buyers will travel to destinations such as Ayacucho, Cajamarca, Cusco, Chachapoyas and Ica until May 20, with the objective of discovering firsthand the diversity of attractions Peru has to offer.
During these visits, participants will experience the cultural and historical routes of each region, discover the richness of local traditions, enjoy regional gastronomy and explore experiences specially designed for the international market. This strategy will allow foreign operators to experience firsthand the quality of Peru’s tourism offer and generate future business opportunities for the regions involved.
The organizers believe these tours are essential for promoting new destinations and decentralizing traditional tourism flows, generating direct economic benefits for local communities and strengthening the sustainable development of the tourism sector across different regions of the country. Furthermore, the initiative seeks to position Peru as a destination capable of offering authentic and differentiated experiences aligned with the latest global tourism trends.
Peru Travel Mart 2026 has been officially declared an Event of National Tourism Interest by the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism, a recognition that reaffirms the strategic importance of this platform for the country’s international promotion. The event also reflects the joint efforts of the public and private sectors to strengthen Peru’s image as a safe, competitive destination prepared to meet the demands of global tourism.
At a time when international travelers increasingly seek sustainable, cultural and experience-based tourism, Peru continues to position itself as one of the most complete destinations in the region thanks to its historical heritage, biodiversity, world-renowned gastronomy and geographic diversity. With this new edition of Peru Travel Mart, the country aims to further expand its presence in the world’s leading tourism markets and consolidate tourism as one of the main drivers of national economic growth.
