The Mexican Caribbean has launched a large-scale security operation involving the deployment of more than 7,000 personnel, with the aim of safeguarding approximately 1.2 million tourists during one of the region’s busiest travel periods. This initiative responds to the destination’s sustained growth and the need to reinforce visitor confidence in one of the hemisphere’s most prominent tourism hubs.

The operation brings together multiple security forces from federal, state, and municipal levels, alongside armed forces and specialized units. Interagency coordination plays a central role in ensuring effective coverage of strategic areas such as beaches, airports, highways, tourist zones, and urban centers with high visitor density. The objective is not only to prevent incidents but also to ensure rapid response capabilities in the event of any contingency.
