The event took place within this important cultural venue as the official presentation of the congress’s content, objectives, and scope. The congress itself will be held from July 8 to 10, 2026, at the same venue, consolidating its role as an international platform for the analysis and development of sustainable religious tourism.
The event featured the participation of Dr. Antonio Santos del Valle, President of the Tourism and Society Think Tank and Coordinator of the World Religious Tourism Network, as well as Morena Valdez Vigil, Minister of Tourism of El Salvador. They shared the strategic vision of the congress and the institutional commitment to promoting faith-based tourism as a driver of cultural, social, and economic development.
The International Congress on Religious Tourism – “Land of Living Faith” – El Salvador 2026 will bring together ecclesiastical leaders, public officials, researchers, tourism operators, community organizations, and specialized media with the aim of fostering dialogue and co-creating strategies to strengthen faith-related destinations. The event seeks to position itself as an international benchmark in the generation of knowledge, partnerships, and innovative proposals that contribute to the responsible management of religious tourism.
