WTTC calls for calm amid Ebola outbreak concerns

06-06-2026

The World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) has called for calm amid growing concerns surrounding the recent Ebola outbreak detected in parts of West Africa, emphasizing the importance of acting responsibly and basing decisions on verified information and recommendations issued by international health authorities.

The organization believes it is essential to avoid disproportionate reactions that could negatively affect international mobility, tourism, and the economies of many countries that rely on the sector as a key driver of employment and development. In this regard, WTTC noted that experience from previous health emergencies has shown that coordinated responses based on scientific evidence are far more effective than broad restrictions or measures driven by excessive caution.
