Commercial aviation has taken a major step into the future with the successful maiden flight of the Airbus A350-1000ULR (Ultra Long Range), an aircraft designed to set new benchmarks in ultra-long-haul travel and make possible nonstop routes that were once considered beyond the reach of modern commercial aviation.

Developed by Airbus for Australian carrier Qantas, the aircraft successfully completed its inaugural test flight from Toulouse, France. During the trial, it remained airborne for three hours and forty-three minutes, reaching an altitude of more than 12,500 meters while allowing engineers to verify the performance of its systems and assess the aircraft’s overall behavior during this initial phase of the certification program.
