Fedecacao (Colombia) confirms Yopal as the hub of the International Cocoa Seminar
26-01-2026
The National Cocoa Growers Federation of Colombia (Fedecacao) has officially confirmed that Yopal, the capital of the department of Casanare, will host the 8th edition of the International Cocoa Seminar, a highly significant event for the cocoa sector both nationally and across Latin America. This designation recognizes the productive dynamism and the growing prominence of Casanare within the cocoa agroindustry, while also providing an opportunity to showcase the municipality and the wider region in a setting focused on discussion, learning, and technical exchange.
Scheduled to take place on September 3 and 4, 2026, the seminar will bring together a broad and diverse group of stakeholders from across the cocoa value chain. Attendance is expected from rural producers, specialized researchers, agribusiness entrepreneurs, academic representatives from educational institutions, and delegates from public and private organizations interested in crop development, bean processing, and the sustainable commercialization of this emblematic product.
The choice of Yopal as the host city is no coincidence. Beyond its status as a regional capital, the city and its surrounding areas have demonstrated meaningful progress in cocoa production and the logistical capacity required to stage gatherings of this scale. This has enabled Fedecacao and the Government of Casanare to position the seminar not only as a technical training platform, but also as a convergence point to strengthen synergies among the different links of the productive chain.
