Calasparra (Murcia – Spain) celebrates the Virgin of Hope
03-09-25
Calasparra (Murcia) dresses up in celebration to honor its patroness, the Virgin of Hope, with festivities that blend devotion, tradition, and joy. Four key dates mark the heart of these celebrations, beginning on August 23 with the opening address and the traditional concert by the Calasparra Music Band. This year, the honor of officially opening the festivities will fall to Dr. Ricardo Robles, whose words will usher in the fervor of an entire town.
The next highlight will take place on Sunday, August 30, at 1:00 p.m., with the floral offering at the sanctuary’s hermitage. This moving expression of love and faith brings together not only bullfighting associations but also all the residents of Calasparra, who fill the heart of the sanctuary with flowers and color.
On the eve of the great day, September 7, one of the few nighttime pilgrimages in the region takes place. The day begins with the pilgrim’s mass at 8:00 p.m. and continues with the stirring torchlight procession, a breathtaking scene that illuminates the night with faith and hope. The evening culminates with the pilgrimage concert, featuring a new edition of the festival “A River of Music”, filling the banks of the Segura River with rhythm and joy.
