As International Technical Director, Kata Sara Gyuricza will be responsible for the administrative, logistical, and procedural coordination of the World Network, ensuring the proper execution of institutional programs, technical follow-up of cooperation plans, the organization of international events, and the harmonization of processes among the different member countries. Her role will be key in implementing and monitoring national action plans; in assisting the two current continental directorates—headed by Mr. Adrián Lomello for Latin America and Ms. Edit Szekely for Europe; and in directly supporting the Director General in strategic planning and operational management of the WRTN, as well as contributing to the Governing Committee of the World Religious Tourism Network.
Professional background and international profile
A tourism professional specializing in tourism management and planning, Kata Sara complemented nearly a decade of experience with a master’s degree focused on tourism management. Her career has given her a comprehensive view of the tourism industry fabric, spanning planning and product design to commercialization and the operation of key services such as lodging, guiding, and local experiences.
With solid experience structuring and leading complex projects, she is proficient in quality systems, administrative management, and strategic planning. In the field of religious tourism, she has successfully coordinated WRTN’s activity in both Hungary and Spain since the Network’s launch in Europe this past January, consolidating both countries as references for best practices and institutional collaboration.
Markedly international in profile, she was born in Hungary, pursued her tourism studies in Spain, and her trajectory includes academic and professional stays in Panama and Brazil. She speaks seven languages, which allows her to navigate with ease the multicultural environments that characterize the World Network.
Her conciliatory, dialogue-oriented character—combined with strong organizational skills and creativity committed to innovation—makes her a versatile professional who respects traditions and is able to integrate technological modernity with the spiritual heritage of faith destinations.
Kata Sara also stands out for her social and ethical commitment. She actively participates in several civil and professional associations: she is the founder of the Skal International Club of Valladolid; a board member at La Facultad Invisible; former communications lead at the MADACH Association; and a volunteer at Red Íncola, Caritas Hungarica, and Caritas Diocesana de Valladolid. She balances her professional development with raising her two children, bringing vocation, leadership, and humanity to every project she undertakes.
“Kata Sara embodies the values that inspire the World Network: professionalism, humanity, dialogue, and international cooperation. Her vision of a more just, sustainable tourism that is deeply respectful of spiritual traditions makes her a key asset for our organization,” the Governing Committee highlighted in its official statement.
A new boost for the World Religious Tourism Network
The appointment of Kata Sara Gyuricsa as International Technical Director marks a step forward in WRTN’s institutional consolidation, as it continues to expand in Europe, Latin America, Africa, and Asia. With her incorporation into the Executive Committee, the Network strengthens its internal structure and ensures efficient, transparent, and global management of the numerous projects it is currently developing with governments, destinations, sanctuaries, universities, and entities across the five continents.
