The Tourism and Society Think Tank (TSTT) announces the launch webinar for Women Leading Tourism (WLT), to be held on 17 November 2025 and led by its president, Ms. Maribel Rodríguez. This virtual event aims to promote female leadership in the global tourism sector and will serve as a meeting point for professionals, institutions, and media committed to equal opportunities in the travel industry. With this initiative, TSTT reinforces its commitment to diversity, sustainability, and innovation as pillars of a new model of tourism development.

The launch webinar will be delivered by Maribel Rodríguez, president of Women Leading Tourism, who will share the founding vision of the organization, its strategic lines of work, and the collaboration opportunities that will open up for professional women, entrepreneurs, researchers, and institutional leaders in tourism around the world. Rodríguez—renowned for her outstanding international career and leadership in sector organizations—will present WLT’s objectives and the action plan for the coming year.

The presentation of Women Leading Tourism seeks to inspire, connect, and give visibility to female talent that is transforming the tourism industry through innovation, sustainability, and responsible management. During the webinar, Maribel Rodríguez will address topics such as the creation of leadership programs, collaboration between public and private entities, and the initiatives WLT will promote to advance gender equality in access to executive positions and strategic decision-making.

The event, organized by the Tourism and Society Think Tank, will feature tourism professionals, representatives of international organizations, academics, and specialized journalists. Its goal is to strengthen women’s presence in forums for debate and in tourism governance structures, as well as to foster mentoring and cooperation networks that drive the development of new generations of women leaders.

In addition, the WLT president will highlight the importance of building strategic alliances across regions and sectors—especially between Europe and Latin America—to move toward a more equitable and competitive tourism industry. “Inclusive leadership and cooperation among women are essential to building a sustainable future for global tourism,” Rodríguez noted in remarks ahead of the launch.

Registration for the launch webinar is free and it will be held via videoconference. Once registration is completed, participants will receive the access link by email 72 hours before the event, along with technical instructions for connecting from any device. The session will include an interactive Q&A segment in real time.
