In her remarks, the Minister emphasized that El Salvador Travel Market represents a valuable window of opportunity for all tourism entrepreneurs in the country, underlining that this platform allows international wholesalers to discover everything El Salvador has to offer: from its beaches and volcanoes to its cities, towns, lakes and, of course, its unique Salvadoran gastronomy.
For his part, Carlos Umaña, president of CASATUR, stressed that this first edition projects “the essence of our country and its potential to become a reference for Central American tourism, promoting unique experiences and a modern vision of hospitality, the result of joint work between the public and private sectors.”
This tourism marketplace is taking place at a time of expansion for El Salvador’s industry, which is betting on a tourism strategy focused on sustainability, innovation and diversification. The country is developing differentiated tourism products — such as surf tourism, wellness tourism, tourism for digital nomads and new traveler profiles — while at the same time promoting cooperation projects with organizations such as UN Tourism, aimed at inclusion and accessibility.
Prior to the official opening of the event, international participants joined familiarization trips through different regions of the country, exploring renowned beaches, impressive volcanoes and natural parks, cultural routes and a cuisine that blends tradition with innovation. These pre-tours allowed attendees to experience firsthand what El Salvador offers as a destination and to better understand its potential for the global traveler.
The support of major strategic partners further strengthened the country’s commitment. Companies such as Hilton San Salvador, Iberia, Volaris, Avianca, Decameron and the Real InterContinental itself backed the initiative and reinforced the image of El Salvador as a regional hub for hospitality and connectivity.
More than a simple B2B fair, El Salvador Travel Market 2025 is presented as a clear statement of intent: the country is ready to compete on the global tourism stage, attract foreign investment, diversify its offerings and consolidate its position among the most attractive destinations in the region. This first edition clearly shows El Salvador’s commitment to opening up to the world with innovation, confidence and warm hospitality.
The joint involvement of the public and private sectors, the focus on emerging tourism segments and the international visibility generated by this type of event are the pillars on which El Salvador aims to build sustainable, long-term growth for its tourism sector. Ultimately, this event marks the beginning of a new chapter for the country, where tourism is not only an economic activity but also a powerful tool for international projection, job creation and equitable development.
We invite media outlets, tour operators and travelers to closely follow this evolution, because El Salvador has laid the foundations of its ambition: to become a modern, accessible and forward-looking tourism destination.
