The organization COCEMFE Aragón has just launched the digital platform “Aragón Turismo Accesible,” a new resource designed to ensure that tourism across the Aragonese region is genuinely inclusive. The initiative, presented last Thursday at the IAACC Pablo Serrano center in Zaragoza, featured the participation of the Regional Minister for Social Welfare and Family, Carmen Susín, and representatives from the Directorate-General for Tourism, underscoring the strong institutional backing behind the project. With “Aragón Turismo Accesible,” COCEMFE Aragón aims to address a long-standing need voiced by people with physical and organic disabilities: having clear, reliable, and accessible information about existing tourism resources across the three Aragonese provinces (Huesca, Teruel, and Zaragoza). Until now, planning a trip for a person with a disability involved numerous phone calls, inquiries, and a great deal of uncertainty about the real accessibility of accommodations, restaurants, museums, or routes. According to the organization, this information gap has prevented 13.6% of people with disabilities from engaging in tourism activities due to a lack of appropriate support. (aragondigital.es)
