China has become a magnet for international tourists seeking unique shopping experiences, driven by favorable policies and an increasing presence on social media. During the recent Labor Day holidays, the country saw a remarkable rise in the number of foreign visitors, many of whom arrived with the specific goal of purchasing distinctive, high-quality goods.

According to data from the National Immigration Administration, approximately 1.12 million foreigners entered and exited China during the holiday period, marking a year-on-year increase of 43.1%. This growth is partly attributed to relaxed visa policies, such as the 240-hour visa-free transit program, which has made it easier for tourists to enter the country and encouraged longer stays.

The trend of combining tourism with shopping has gained popularity, particularly among visitors from Europe and Africa. On social media platforms, it is common to see posts from travelers showcasing their purchases — ranging from traditional Chinese clothing and silk products to cutting-edge technology. For instance, a South African blogger expressed her delight over a thermos that automatically brews tea, highlighting the blend of design and functionality in Chinese products.
