The economic impact of MWC 2025 in Barcelona is estimated at between 540 and 550 million euros, making it a key driver of the local economy. Since its arrival in the city, the MWC has accumulated an economic impact of approximately 6.85 billion euros, strengthening Barcelona's position as a technological hub of reference.
The holding of the MWC increases the demand for professionals in specific sectors, especially tourism. The hotel and catering industry is one of the main beneficiaries, requiring floor waiters, room waiters and assistant waiters to reinforce the teams of the hotels in the area. These positions offer salaries according to the collective bargaining agreement, plus bonuses, and require full time availability.
In addition, the logistics sector is experiencing an increase in demand for staff to ensure the smooth running of the event. Specialised companies are looking for around 100 logistics workers, reflecting the importance of this sector in MWC operations.
