SUA Airlines begins the formal process to become certified as an aeronautical operator

As announced last January 28th at Carrasco Airport, SUA Líneas Aéreas starts the certification process to obtain its AOC (Aircraft Operator Certificate) before the National Aeronautical Authority, DINACIA.

CEO Antonio Rama told the PDA: ‘The capitalisation issue is closed, which is in addition to the previously announced management agreement with airBaltic, so now it is time to present ourselves before DINACIA to obtain the AOC, the Aeronautical Operator's Certificate. We expect to make the inaugural flight next November when we will start the first stage of operations. We will start with four daily flights from Puente Aereo to Aeroparque; two daily flights to Sao Paulo and in principle one per day to Rio de Janeiro; Cordoba; Asuncion and Santiago de Chile. We will start as previously planned with four airBaltic Airbus A220-300s, on ACMI lease (including crew, maintenance and insurance)’.

The new airline enters the market with favourable conditions to meet the growing demand for higher quality passenger travel from the southwest to the northeast of South America. This ‘crescent’ generates 70% of the region's GDP, with Montevideo positioned as a central hub. While South America experiences the second highest RPK (Passenger Revenue Kilometres) growth globally, after North America, there remains a significant unserved gap in inter-regional travel.

SUA Airlines' proposal is to redefine the “passenger-to-passenger” travel experience, and reinstate “dignity in air travel”.

The Airbus A220-300 aircraft have 138 seats, which will be offered in three classes: 8 in Business; 30 in Premium Economy and 100 in Ful Economy.

The seats will not only have larger dimensions, but a pitch (distance between seats) of 30 inches in Full Economy; 33 in Premium Economy and 39 in Business.

Passengers will have FREE internet access with their own device during the flight.

The business plan foresees a constant and vast increase in routes and fleet expansion.
