Rome to host WTTC Global Summit in September 2025

The World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) has announced that its Global Summit 2025 will be held in Rome, marking the event's return to Europe after six years. The Italian capital will host the 25th edition of the event, which will take place at the Auditorium Parco della Musica from 28-30 September 2025.

Organised in collaboration with the Italian Ministry of Tourism, the Italian National Tourism Board (ENIT) and with the support of the Municipality of Rome and the Lazio Region, the event will bring together business leaders, government representatives and industry experts to discuss the challenges and opportunities facing the global travel and tourism industry.

The 2025 Summit will place special emphasis on digital transformation, regenerative tourism and investment strategies, as well as looking at the growing impact of technology on the development of the sector. Julia Simpson, President and CEO of WTTC, highlighted the importance of the chosen venue:

‘I am delighted to bring our Global Summit back to Europe, and what better place than the iconic city of Rome. It is one of the world's most popular urban destinations and will provide the perfect setting for our members and distinguished guests from around the world.’

For her part, Italy's Minister of Tourism, Daniela Santanchè, highlighted the relevance of the event:

‘We enthusiastically welcome the 25th WTTC Global Summit in Rome. With its millenary history and its ability to attract visitors from all over the world, our city is the ideal setting for this meeting. Italy is ready to seize this opportunity to strengthen its leadership in the tourism sector, promoting sustainability, digital innovation and experiential tourism.’

Over the years, the WTTC Global Summit has been attended by prominent world leaders. The 2024 edition in Perth, Australia, included speeches by former US Secretary of State John Kerry and conservationist Robert Irwin, addressing issues such as climate change and wildlife conservation. In previous years, the event has hosted figures such as Barack Obama, Bill Clinton, Theresa May, David Cameron, Tony Blair and Ban Ki-moon.

The 25th WTTC Global Summit promises to be a key event for the future of tourism, highlighting the trends and innovations that will define the industry and reaffirming its role as a key driver of the global economy.
