A cornerstone of the campaign is a promotional video produced by Ábside Media. This simple yet moving audiovisual piece aims to awaken the desire to experience the Cathedral from within. As Manuel Salas explained, “The goal is to evoke a deeply personal reaction in the viewer. We want to reach the heart and give people a reason to come, to feel, and to be moved.”
The campaign is part of the broader commemorative program marking the Cathedral’s 800th anniversary, which will run until 2027 and culminate with the Jubilee Year, set to take place from October 25, 2026, to October 27, 2027. During this period, hundreds of thousands of pilgrims are expected to visit, with the opportunity to obtain indulgences as part of this extraordinary Jubilee.
The commemorative agenda includes solemn liturgical events, cultural gatherings, sacred art exhibitions, and other initiatives that will highlight the Cathedral’s historical and spiritual importance. Among the key events is a major commemorative exhibition in 2026, featuring priceless works from both the Cathedral’s own heritage and prestigious invited collections.
One of the campaign’s strategic partners is Meraki Cultura Audiovisual, a Toledo-based company known for the acclaimed immersive experience “Lumina Catedral de Toledo.” Meraki is once again playing an active role in this stage, bringing its expertise in audiovisual production and event planning. Beyond designing the scenography and technical elements of the launch event, the company is also developing new formats to bring spiritual heritage closer to the general public through innovative and sensory-driven approaches.
Meraki has established itself as an international leader in the field of religious tourism, integrating cutting-edge technology with deep respect for tradition. As a member of the World Religious Tourism Network, it has participated in numerous initiatives promoting a new way of telling sacred stories. For Meraki's team, spiritual tourism is not just about travel—it is a transformative experience that fosters connection, contemplation, and meaning.
The Cathedral’s 800th Anniversary campaign is not just about celebrating a historical milestone. It aims to strengthen the bond between the Cathedral and its city, while sharing with the world a universal message of beauty, faith, and emotion. At the heart of Toledo, a living history continues to beat—and now, more than ever, it invites us all to feel it.
