One of the major innovations of this edition is the event’s decentralization to three strategic regions: Cusco, Arequipa, and Amazonas. For the first time, PTM will extend beyond the capital to directly connect regional operators with international buyers through technical visits, product presentations, and a special Fam Trip in Chachapoyas. These activities will take place from June 29 to July 3.
This new approach has a dual objective: to diversify the national tourism offering by showcasing the richness and variety of destinations beyond Lima, and to strengthen the inclusion of regional players in international marketing processes, enabling small and medium-sized operators to access global tourism markets.
“We want regional actors to have a direct opportunity to showcase their offerings to those who make decisions about destination marketing abroad. This is a key step toward a more decentralized, sustainable, and diverse tourism model,” said Maritza Montero, Chair of the PTM 2025 Organizing Committee and Vice President of CANATUR. “The active participation of regions is essential to building Peru’s image as a comprehensive tourism destination, where every corner of the country has something unique to offer.”
To that end, the host regions – Cusco, Arequipa, and Amazonas – will showcase differentiated tourism products, including cultural and archaeological routes, community-based tourism experiences, nature and adventure circuits, regional cuisine, and wellness and spiritual tourism proposals.
On the international side, the 2025 edition will feature buyers from traditional markets such as the United States, Spain, France, Germany, and Brazil, as well as from emerging countries seeking to include Peru as a new destination in their catalogs, such as the United Arab Emirates, South Korea, Poland, and South Africa. This diversity of markets opens new business opportunities in specialized segments like luxury tourism, scientific tourism, gastronomy, and nature-based travel.
“The arrival of buyers from new markets confirms Peru’s great potential as a diversified destination. This event, developed in coordination with PROMPERÚ, will open new tourism routes, highlight regional proposals, and strengthen strategic partnerships. Our commitment is to add new destinations to the global tourism map every year,” added Montero.
In addition to the business rounds, Peru Travel Mart will offer networking activities, specialized workshops, expert panels, and promotional spaces, making it a key venue for knowledge sharing and industry updates. The event thus fosters not only commercial transactions but also the exchange of ideas, capacity-building, and the development of collaborative strategies to address the sector’s current challenges.
PTM 2025 has been officially declared an Event of National Tourism Interest by the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (MINCETUR), reinforcing its relevance as a platform for public-private cooperation. This designation highlights the event as a national priority to position Peru as a safe, accessible, and sustainable destination.
In a post-pandemic context and amid increasing global competition, Peru Travel Mart serves as a strategic tool to build international market confidence, present improvements in infrastructure and connectivity, and promote Peru as a country committed to quality, authenticity, and innovation in tourism.
The event also represents an important opportunity to strengthen the Peru country brand, aligning tourism promotion with other sectors such as culture, gastronomy, handicrafts, fair trade, and biodiversity. In this sense, PTM 2025 is expected to contribute significantly to enhancing Peru’s perceived value as a destination among international audiences.
The active participation of regional governments, business associations, chambers of commerce, tourism networks, and local communities will be key to the event’s success. This multi-sectoral collaboration ensures that Peru Travel Mart is not just a business fair, but a meeting point and a platform for collectively building the future of tourism in the country.
With a long-term vision, PTM 2025 aims to consolidate its role as the main meeting space between Peru’s tourism industry and the world, promoting an inclusive, decentralized, high-quality, and sustainable tourism development model.
