Cehegín (Spain) finalizes preparations for the Jubilee of the Virgin of the Wonders

From July 25, 2025, to July 25, 2026, Cehegín will celebrate a Jubilee Year granted by the Bishop of Cartagena to mark the 300th anniversary of the arrival of the image of its patron saint.
In celebration of the third centenary of the arrival of the image of the Virgin of the Wonders in Cehegín, the Bishop of the Diocese of Cartagena, Mons. José Manuel Lorca Planes, decreed at the beginning of 2025 an extraordinary diocesan Jubilee Year for this town in the Northwest of Murcia, which will begin on July 25.
Yesterday, the jubilee program was presented at the Las Claras Cultural Center of CajaMurcia in the city of Murcia, in an event attended by the Vicar of Caravaca-Mula, David Martínez; the President of the Brotherhood of the Virgin of the Wonders, Tomás Noguerol; the Mayor of Cehegín, Alicia del Amor; and the Regional Minister of Tourism, Culture, Youth, and Sports, Carmen Conesa.

Although the Jubilee Year officially begins on July 25, on July 16 the town will commemorate the arrival of the image of the Virgin of the Wonders at the port of Cartagena, where it landed 300 years ago from Naples.
