World’s Best Tourism Films Take Center Stage in Guimarães with Antonio Santos del Valle Honoring the Tourism Services Winners

The 37th World Tourism Film Awards, held in Guimarães, once again celebrated excellence in tourism audiovisual communication by honoring the World’s Best Tourism Films of the Year. The ceremony brought international visibility to the city and highlighted outstanding productions from leading tourism organizations, brands, and destinations worldwide.

Among the distinguished guests, Antonio Santos del Valle, President of the Tourism and Society Think Tank (TSTT), was invited to take the stage alongside Alexander V. Kammel, CIFFT Director, to present the awards in the prestigious Tourism Services category.

His participation underscored both the significance of the ceremony and the ongoing collaboration between CIFFT and the Tourism & Society Think Tank. The invitation was a clear acknowledgment of the joint efforts the two institutions have been advancing to strengthen strategic communication, innovation, and thought leadership within the global tourism sector.

In the Tourism Services category, Antonio Santos del Valle presented the first-place award to NURI – The Secret of Nuri (Portugal) and Centro Danza Matadero (Spain), recognized as the World’s Best Tourism Films of the Year. The second-place distinction went to SWISS Connecting Cultures (Switzerland), followed by Feel With Us (Portugal) and Hilton Kyoto (Japan), which jointly secured third place. You do you (Spain) received fourth place, and You gotta see this! – Depot History Center (Poland) completed the ranking in fifth. These productions were distinguished for their creativity, strategic storytelling, and their ability to elevate tourism services on a global scale.

Across all categories, a total of 32 tourism videos from 17 countries were celebrated, spanning City Promotion, Region Promotion, Country Promotion, Tourism Services, and Tourism Products, along with two special distinctions: the Tourism Press Award and the GreenWorking Awards.

Among the winners were influential tourism organizations such as Switzerland Tourism, Visit Sweden, Visit Düsseldorf, the Slovenian Tourist Board, the Zagreb Tourist Board, the National Tourism Organization of Montenegro, Turismo de Portugal, and many others—reinforcing the event’s relevance and impact within the industry.

The World Tourism Film Awards were organized by the International Committee of Tourism Film Festivals (CIFFT) and the Municipality of Guimarães, with the support of Tourism Porto & North of Portugal and the participation of UN Tourism.

As the closing event of the CIFFT Circuit—which evaluates more than 4,000 tourism videos annually across nine international festivals—the World Tourism Film Awards remain a global benchmark for excellence, recognizing productions that set new standards for audiovisual tourism promotion.
