With more than 250 high-level participants expected —including government officials, decision-makers, and investors from 53 African countries, such as tourism ministers and representatives of investment promotion agencies— the summit aspires to consolidate the UAE’s position as a reliable partner for the continent and open new pathways for strategic collaboration in key sectors that favor an integrated and sustainable economic future. Among the international figures expected to attend is the newly elected Secretary-General of UN Tourism, Princess Shaikha Al Nowais, whose participation will add great value to the global dialogue on the role of tourism as a catalyst for economic development, sustainability, and international cooperation.
According to Badreya Al Maidoor, the summit seeks not only to be a forum for knowledge exchange but also a platform to support sustainable development through the creation of projects and partnerships that promote shared interests. This vision is aligned with the “We the UAE 2031” strategy, which aspires to position the country as a global hub of the new economic model, grounded in international partnerships and forward-looking sectors.
For his part, Jonathan Worsley, Chairman and CEO of The Bench, expressed the honor of this collaboration with the Ministry, highlighting that the alliance “reflects our shared ambition to accelerate investment and development in Africa’s hospitality sector.” Worsley emphasized that the UAE has long served as a bridge between global capital and emerging markets, and that the summit will further strengthen connections between African nations and the international investment community. He also noted that this environment will foster meaningful dialogue, facilitate funding opportunities, and encourage long-term economic growth in Africa.
During the event, participants will be able to explore opportunities for collaboration between public and private entities in diverse areas such as tourism, infrastructure, hospitality, and investment, both in the UAE and in Africa. The summit will also spotlight future initiatives in these sectors across both markets, offering a shared vision of upcoming projects.
This gathering takes on special significance in a global context where South–South cooperation is gaining momentum. The initiative not only strengthens tourism’s role as a driver of economic and cultural development but also reinforces the UAE’s position as a gateway for international capital committed to sustainable growth in Africa.
The UAE–Africa Tourism Investment Summit, held under the umbrella of FHS World 2025, is set to be a vibrant and influential platform where strategic alliances will be forged, investment flows unlocked, and a model of shared development promoted. With high-profile participation, the anticipated presence of the Secretary-General of UN Tourism, Princess Shaikha Al Nowais, strong institutional backing, and a long-term outlook, this event could mark a turning point in tourism and economic cooperation between the Gulf region and Africa, while laying the foundations for future global investment.
