The Terres Travel Festival will celebrate its 9th edition in Tortosa (Spain) from September 12 to 19

Tortosa will once again become the epicenter of tourism audiovisual productions with the ninth edition of the Terres Travel Festival – Films & Creativity, to be held from September 12 to 19. Since 2017, the festival has been organized without interruption in the capital of Baix Ebre, bringing together productions, professionals, and the general public around tourism and documentary cinema.

The festival aims to consolidate itself as a benchmark in the tourism audiovisual sector in Spain, while fostering dialogue between communication and tourism specialists. It also seeks to bring to the citizens of Tortosa and the Terres de l’Ebre productions that inspire the desire to travel and, at the same time, promote domestic tourism in Catalonia.

An international benchmark

Terres Travel Festival is the exclusive partner in Spain of CIFFT (International Committee of Tourism Film Festivals) and is considered one of the most innovative members of this international network. This year’s edition will feature 212 productions from more than 30 countries in official competition.

The program includes screenings of tourism and documentary films, exhibitions, conferences, the Sustainable Tourism Day dedicated to communication and sustainable tourism, artistic performances, and activities with local stakeholders. The festival will culminate with an award ceremony and a gala dinner.

What’s new in 2025

Some of the main new features include:

Gastronomic activities: the opening day on September 12 will feature tastings from Baja California (Mexico), while on September 13 attendees will be able to enjoy Japanese specialties.
Screenings for teenagers: on September 18, the documentary El tesoro de Robinson (Robinson’s Treasure), about the Chilean island that inspired Daniel Defoe, will be screened. The session will be attended by producer Nathanaël Friloux.
Sustainable festival: the 2025 edition has received B Greenly certification, accrediting the festival’s commitment to sustainability.
B2MTF Terres Travel Experience: from September 16 to 20, a parallel gathering for travel filmmakers and amateur travel photographers and videographers will be organized, offering the chance to discover unique activities in southern Catalonia: https://www.b2mtf.com/ terres-travel-experience/

A festival open to the public

The Terres Travel Festival combines its professional side, aimed at tourism and communication experts, with free activities for the local community. In this way, Tortosa will once again showcase to the world the latest trends in tourism audiovisual productions, consolidating itself as a cultural and creative meeting point of international scope.

Active involvement of the Tourism and Society Think Tank

Since 2022, the Tourism and Society Think Tank (TSTT) has collaborated with the Terres Travel Festival and sponsors one of its special awards: the Award for the Best Ibero-American Tourism Promotion Film.
