Royal Caribbean crowns its history with 100 million passengers

Royal Caribbean is celebrating a historic milestone after having transported 100 million passengers in its more than five decades of operation, cementing its position as an undisputed leader in the cruise industry.

The journey to this landmark figure reached its pinnacle aboard the Icon of the Seas, where the Duquette family from Parkland, Florida, was surprised with special honors: they received upgrades, gifts, and a complimentary cruise on the modern Utopia of the Seas in recognition of being the lucky 100 millionth passengers.

Over the past half-century, Royal Caribbean has built a legacy with a fleet of 29 ships sailing to more than 300 destinations around the globe, including signature experiences like Perfect Day at CocoCay in The Bahamas, which have become synonymous with innovation and high-quality leisure.

This celebration coincides with the launch of the company’s new maritime jewel, the Star of the Seas, set to debut in August with 7-night itineraries through the Eastern and Western Caribbean from Port Canaveral, Florida. In addition, the company is expanding its offerings with the upcoming opening of the Royal Beach Club Paradise Island in The Bahamas in December 2025. The innovations don’t stop there: by the end of 2027, three additional exclusive destinations will join the portfolio, including the much-anticipated Perfect Day Mexico, Royal Beach Club Cozumel, and Perfect Day at Lelepa in the South Pacific.

As part of the celebration, Royal Caribbean has launched an attractive promotion for the U.S. market, offering discounts of up to $100 on select cruises—a deal valid until August 7 and applicable to departures from August 5 through the end of the year.
