Tianguis Turístico 2025 to be held in two countries: Mexico and the United States
16-04-25
For the first time in its history, the Tianguis Turístico de México will be held binationally, with events scheduled in Baja California (Mexico), and San Diego - California (United States). This edition, which will take place from 26-27 April 2025, marks a significant milestone in tourism promotion by extending its reach beyond Mexico's borders.
Tourism Minister Josefina Rodriguez has announced that this will be an inclusive edition of the Tianguis, open to the general public for the first time. The initiative seeks to involve a wider audience in tourism activities, encouraging greater participation and understanding of Mexico's cultural and touristic richness.
The event will feature a series of activities designed to highlight the diversity and richness of Mexican tourism. These include ‘La Ventana de Mexico en San Diego’, which will be held at Liberty Station, and the ‘Gran Taco de Mexico’ food festival at the Tijuana Cultural Centre, which will feature a variety of tacos representative of the 31 Mexican states and Mexico City.
In addition, the ‘Dialogue of Captains’, an inaugural forum focusing on community-based tourism, is scheduled to promote sustainable and responsible practices in the tourism industry. These activities reflect a renewed focus on promoting tourism as a tool for economic development and social cohesion.
