Africa is gearing up to host one of the most significant international tourism events: the 2025 edition of Africa's Travel Indaba, taking place from May 12 to 15 at the Inkosi Albert Luthuli International Convention Centre in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal. Under the theme "Unlimited Africa," the event promises to highlight Africa's limitless potential as a premier global tourist destination.

Interest in this year’s event has reached unprecedented levels, with a 14.4% increase in buyer participation compared to last year. So far, 873 buyers from 55 countries have been approved, including key markets such as the United States, China, the United Kingdom, and India. Additionally, 163 exhibitors from 24 African countries have confirmed attendance, filling 95% of the available exhibition space and requiring an additional 400 square meters compared to the previous edition.

South Africa’s Minister of Tourism, Patricia de Lille, emphasized that Indaba is not just a trade fair but a critical platform for redefining narratives, forging powerful connections, and unlocking shared value across the continent. In 2024, the event generated R226 million in direct economic activity for Durban and an additional R333 million for KwaZulu-Natal, creating over 1,000 local jobs.
