Bogotá has launched an ambitious strategy to position itself as a leading destination for cultural and creative tourism. During 2025, more than 1,200 events are planned, including festivals, concerts, plays and art exhibitions. This initiative aims to attract more than 15 million visitors, consolidating the Colombian capital as an epicentre of cultural industries in Latin America.

Mayor Carlos Fernando Galán highlighted Bogotá's transformation into a global cultural centre, citing events such as the International Festival of Living Arts, the International Violin Competition and the Art Biennial as pillars of this strategy. The city will also focus on strengthening regional tourism, promoting experiences that connect visitors to the region's cultural and natural wealth.

According to Bogotá's Tourism Observatory, the city currently receives between 12 and 13 million tourists per year, of which approximately 15% are international. With this new strategy, it is expected to significantly increase the proportion of foreign visitors, positioning Bogotá as a world-class destination for events and cultural experiences.
