Professionally, he has been linked to various Italian and international media, such as America Oggi, Agenpress.it, Affaritaliani.it, and magazines such as Di Tutto and Metro. He was also director of Marketing Journal and correspondent from Italy for the Italian-American public. From the beginning, his work has been guided by a humanist vision of communication, focused on the service to the common good and the promotion of ethical values.
Within the institutional and associative sphere, Biagio Maimone has held responsibilities in various entities that promote solidarity, culture and spirituality. He is the Communications Director of the Sanremo Christian Song Festival, a musical platform that combines art and faith. He has also been spokesperson for the Mayor of Assago, communications consultant for various public administrations and Director of the Press Office of the Association ‘Bambino Gesù del Cairo Onlus’, led by Monsignor Yoannis Lahzi Gaid, former personal secretary of Pope Francis.
With a deep spiritual vocation, Maimone has promoted initiatives such as ‘Area Sud Basilicata Patrimony of Humanity’, and has collaborated in congresses and festivals that focus on integration, overcoming poverty and culture as a tool for social transformation. He has also founded associations aimed at consumer protection, cultural inclusion and solidarity, such as ‘Progetto di Vita - Io Donna’ and ‘Uniti si Vince’.
Through his books and articles, Maimone has put forward innovative proposals in the field of humanist economics and participatory democracy, including the development of the Citizens' Solidarity Fund and the promotion of laws aimed at alleviating over-indebtedness.
The World Religious Tourism Network has particularly valued his commitment to the spiritual message and his ability to translate it into concrete proposals with a territorial impact. His vision of religious tourism as a tool of encounter between cultures and faiths is fully in line with the objectives of the Network, which seeks to revitalise pilgrimage destinations and promote conscious, sustainable and spiritual tourism.
In the words of the new National Coordinator: ‘I accept with honour this new challenge with the deep desire to contribute to a network that believes in the soul of the people, in their spiritual roots and in the possibility of building bridges of fraternity. Religious tourism is not only a physical journey, but also an inner path that connects us with the most authentic part of our humanity’.
With this designation, Italy positions itself as one of the strategic axes of the European development of the World Religious Tourism Network. Maimone will lead the articulation of alliances with religious, governmental and tourism sector entities, to enhance pilgrimage routes, promote cultural festivals and generate synergies that enrich both the visitor and local communities.
