22-04-25
During the Easter holiday 2025, Argentina experienced a remarkable tourist movement, with 2.7 million people touring the country and generating a significant economic impact. According to data provided by the Confederación Argentina de la Mediana Empresa (CAME), visitors spent a total of $733 billion on various activities, representing an increase of 18.8% compared to the same period last year, adjusted for inflation.
This increase in tourism spending is attributed to several factors, including a longer average length of stay and an increase in daily spending per person. On average, each tourist spent $87,590 per day and stayed 3.1 days at their destination, resulting in a total expenditure of $271,529 per visitor. These data reflect a positive trend in the tourism sector, indicating a recovery and sustained growth.
The geographical distribution of tourists was diverse, with traditional destinations such as the Atlantic Coast, the Cordoba Sierras, the Northwest and Patagonia receiving a large influx of visitors. In addition, an increase in accommodation occupancy was observed in less traditional regions, suggesting a diversification in tourist preferences and a wider exploration of the national territory.
