Corpoturismo and businessmen conclude national caravan to promote tourism in Cartagena de Indias

The Corporación Turismo Cartagena de Indias -Corpoturismo- and 15 companies in the tourism sector: hotels, operators, travel agencies of Cartagena de Indias concluded the national caravan of tourism promotion that impacted the three most important capitals in visitor arrivals to our city: Medellin, Cali and Bogota D.C., from Tuesday 03 to yesterday, Thursday, September 05, which was supported by JetSmart as the official airline, which has direct connection between La Heroica and the three destinations visited.

The caravan had an impact on more than 300 tourism industry professionals in the three cities, presenting the latest developments in experiential tourism in Cartagena de Indias and various events. The city's entrepreneurs participated in workshops and networking spaces, generating new business contacts and strengthening existing alliances.

‘The synergy between the entrepreneurs of the tourism sector of Cartagena and Corpoturismo is essential to successfully plan and execute the offer of the destination in the tourist seasons of Independence Day on November 11, the October recess and Christmas and New Year's Eve,’ said Liliana Rodriguez, executive president of Corpoturismo. ‘We are very satisfied with the results of this caravan and we hope that the companies participating in the caravan can materialise business expectations for more than 3.5 billion pesos in the next 6 to 12 months,’ she added.

The caravan presented novelties such as sports and religious tourism, as well as the agenda of the Independence Festivities on 11 November, as opportunities for wholesalers and retailers to capitalise on their service portfolios.

The Cartagena de Indias businessmen expressed their satisfaction at participating in the caravan and their interest in participating again in future promotional activities. For their part, tourism industry professionals from Medellin, Cali and Bogota were grateful for the invitation and stressed the importance of continuing to rediscover the charm of Cartagena de Indias.

This action, led by Corpoturismo, is contemplated within the marketing plan with the aim of continuing to promote the destination of Cartagena de Indias, with a view to increasing the number of visitors, attracted by the different segments of tourism that the city offers: cultural, heritage, marine-coastal, romance, religious and sports.
