More than 400 exhibitors and 220 producers, including beneficiaries of the Sembrando Vida program, participated in the event, showcasing the diversity and quality of cocoa-derived products. The presence of these producers not only enriched the festival's offerings, but also evidenced the state government's commitment to boosting the cocoa sector.
Among the most outstanding activities was the “Duelo de Fogones”, a culinary competition between traditional cooks who presented innovative recipes using cocoa and chocolate. In addition, the “Chocopasaporte” allowed attendees to tour the different stands, accumulating stamps that could be exchanged for prizes, encouraging interaction and discovery of the festival's offerings.
The record number of visitors had a positive impact on the local economy, benefiting sectors such as hotels, gastronomy and commerce. The festival not only promoted the consumption of local products, but also positioned Tabasco as an attractive tourist destination, highlighting its cultural richness and cocoa tradition.
During the inauguration of the festival, Governor Javier May Rodríguez highlighted the importance of events like this to promote the attractions and strengthen the state's economy. He announced the planting of 50,000 hectares of new cocoa plantations and the construction of a processing plant, initiatives that seek to revitalize cocoa production and position Tabasco as a leader in the sector.
The success of the Chocolate Festival 2024 sets a precedent for future editions, evidencing the interest and active participation of the community and visitors. The combination of tradition, innovation and government commitment augurs a promising future for the cocoa sector in Tabasco, consolidating the festival as a cultural and economic reference in the region.
