TSTT promotes the International Network of Regenerative and Circular Smart Tourist Routes

22-05-24

The TSTT Working Group, coordinated by Dr. Fernando Molina, has completed throughout 2023 the development and testing of the Regenerative and Circular Tourism Intelligence System (SIT-RC) applicable to all Intelligent Tourism Routes (RTI), global thematic content and routes of supramunicipal or transnational scope.

The System has been presented by its author, Dr. Fernando Molina, since December 6 in Lima, Peru and at the SEGITTUR Lab at FITUR 2024 in Madrid. Dr. Daniela Flores, co-author, presented it at the DTI Congress in Curitiba (Brazil) on March 19.

The SIT-RC model provides solutions in four main areas:

A) Participatory and standardized strategic governance, with a managing entity in each route.

B) Competitive intelligence (CI) with thematic Tourism Intelligence Units (silk, coffee, cocoa, wine tourism, blue tourism, religious, etc.) connected to digital ecosystems and federated data spaces and platforms (SIT).

C) Implementation and monitoring of indicators and measurement indexes, with Observatories and Labs of positive impact of regenerative and circular tourism (CR).

D) The connected territories component that promotes the interaction of travelers and the local community, the harmonization of indicators, scientific entrepreneurship through the exchange and transfer of knowledge between the networks of supra-municipal destinations along the routes.

The operational SIT-RC model can be implemented both in single-destinations and in multi-destination Smart Tourism Routes, incorporating the Standardized Tourism Intelligence Systems (UNE 178.501/166.006) together with a battery of harmonized indicators/indices of regenerative and circular tourism of high impact for market operators and tourists from all over the world.

The SIT-RC allows to measure and compare the indices obtained between the different municipalities of an itinerary/route, which facilitates informed decision making, for the improvement of the positive impact on local communities and their territories.

The Tourist and Society Think Tank makes the RTI-RC Multidestination Model available to the different world routes that it has promoted in recent years at a global level. For this purpose it has launched the RTI Council (Intelligent Tourist Routes) chaired by Antonio Santos, also president of the TSTT and Dr. Fernando Molina, head of the RTI-RC program, an entity that in addition to having the members of the RTI Intelligent Tourist Routes Global Networks already has two support units in its daily management:

A. Press Media Tourism Visioneer (Validated News Agency)

 B. Smart Platforms Tourism Visioneer (data sharing platforms)

C. Marketing, contents, UX Tourism Visioneer (OTT, contents, promotion)

D. Phygital Tourism Visioneer Shop

The Global Network of destinations and Smart Tourism Route Bioseda, chose this weekend the city of Valencia to present the SIT-RC model and presented its different work units: RTI advisors, the Science and Business Innovation unit and the Technical Office Tourism Visioneer that form a team with more than nine people last Friday at the College of Arte Mayor de la Seda, where they were received by members of its board of directors.

During the meeting, the president of the “Bioseda World Network” and Consul of Uzbekistan José María Chiquillo, expressed his satisfaction as a Valencian that the city becomes the International Headquarters of the network, showing his commitment as founder of the Silk Institute Spain to share the network as the first regenerative and circular Smart Tourist Route in the world, a model that will serve as a reference for all the more than 140,000 members of the Tourist and Society Think Tank (TSTT).
