The next UN Tourism Regional Meeting for the Americas will be in Lima
12-05-24
The 70th Meeting of the UN Tourism Regional Commission for the Americas, CAM, designated the city of Lima, Peru, as the venue for its event, which, as in previous editions, will seek to generate proposals focused on boosting the growth of the sector.
The 70th edition of the Regional Commission for the Americas will also highlight the host country's tourism offer, its varied culture and renowned gastronomy. It will also be a convenient promotional tool for regions that may host global events.
The venue was officially confirmed at the end of the 69th edition of the CAM, in the city of Varadero, Cuba. UN Tourism has six regional commissions: Africa, the Americas, South Asia, East Asia and the Pacific, Europe and the Middle East. These commissions meet at least once a year and are comprised of all executive and affiliate members from each region.
The regional commissions were created in 1975 as subsidiary bodies of the General Assembly and allow member countries to make proposals and discuss conditions with the UN Tourism Secretariat General.
