Minister of Tourism, Handicrafts and Social and Solidarity Economy, Fatim-Zahra Ammor, shared before the House of Representatives her vision of making Morocco a leading destination for business tourism. Speaking on April 30, 2024, Ammor set an ambitious goal: to attract 1.5 million business tourists by 2026, with an even broader target of 2 million by 2030.

Ammor stressed that business tourism is not only a crucial economic driver, but also a powerful tool for promoting the country's tourism destinations. She noted significant growth in this sector in recent years, with major investments reaching all destinations that embrace this type of tourism.

The minister detailed that the Ministry has dedicated an entire sector of its strategic roadmap for the period 2023-2026 to business tourism. However, she stressed the need for long-term financing and investments to carry out the projects outlined in this strategy.

In this context, Amor pledged to evaluate all proposals and potential destinations to host business tourism, providing the necessary support and guidance. He also highlighted the importance of the new Investment Charter, which offers significant incentives to encourage the private sector to carry out projects in this area.

With these initiatives, the Ministry of Tourism seeks not only to strengthen the national economy, but also to position Morocco as a leading international business tourism destination.
