Colombia: luxury river cruise routes begin on the Magdalena River

03-05-24

In 2024, Colombia will experience a significant breakthrough in its tourism sector with the introduction of two luxury river cruises that will sail along the historic Magdalena River. This development is the result of a collaboration between Colombia and AmaWaterways, a pioneer in the river cruise industry, which has decided to expand its operations to the Americas, choosing Colombia as its first destination on the continent.

AmaMagdalena and AmaMelodia, the ships that are part of this project, will offer tours that connect iconic cities and sites of profound historical and cultural value. The meticulously designed itineraries seek not only to provide recreation and luxury, but also to promote a respectful and in-depth approach to the country's rich cultural heritage. Each stop on the tour is carefully selected to offer passengers a unique experience, from Cartagena to Barranquilla, passing through Mompox and other enchanting destinations such as El Banco, Magangué, and the mystical Nueva Venecia.
