Travel agencies and tour operators in the United States have expressed their support for the alliance between Aeromexico and Delta to the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT).

They argue that this alliance is crucial to maintain connectivity between the two countries, as 23 direct flights on 21 routes between the United States and Mexico would be affected if the alliance does not materialize.

In letters addressed to the DOT, these agencies have highlighted the importance of promoting bilateral tourism and the relevance of the alliance to transport more than 45 million passengers since 2017.

Companies backing the alliance include ALG Vacations, Picasso Travel, Convintong Travel, One10, Connoisseur Travel, Arnold Travel and Tours, Corniche Travel, Travel Experts, Atlanta Travel Center, Mill-Run Tours, General Wholesalers Travel, Travel Planners International, Costamar Travel Cruise & Tours, among others.

The associations of travel agencies and tourism companies stressed that the collaboration between Aeromexico and Delta is essential for the development of new routes with competitive fares and improved services. They warned that rejecting this alliance would have a negative impact on prices, available routes and both direct and indirect employment in the tourism sector.
