In an effort to counter the rising tide of violence linked to organized crime in Tulum, one of the Riviera Maya's most emblematic tourist destinations, Mexico's Federal Government has taken significant steps. As the high tourist season approaches, marked by spring break and Easter vacations, the tranquility of this paradisiacal place has been disturbed by confrontations between organized gangs, which have culminated in several public executions, increasing the urgency of government intervention.

Faced with this alarming situation, it has been decided to increase the presence of security forces in the area. An additional contingent of 200 members of the National Guard and the Mexican Army will be deployed in Tulum, adding to the troops already present. The main objective of this measure is to restore peace and ensure the protection of both residents and visitors to this internationally renowned tourist destination.

ulum's Secretary of Security and Citizen Protection, Pedro Enrique Jaramillo Visoso, stressed the importance of this action to guarantee a safe vacation for all. According to a press release from the Secretariat of National Defense (Sedena), the patrols will not be limited to urban areas; they will also be extended to the hotel zone and adjacent routes, covering a wide range of surveillance to maximize security.

This military deployment in Tulum is not only aimed at tackling the problem of violence and insecurity generated by gang confrontations. It is also a clear message of the Federal Government's commitment to preserve Mexico's image as a safe and attractive destination for international tourism, especially at key moments such as Easter Week, a time of high tourist influx. With these actions, the authorities hope to restore confidence in the area's security, which is fundamental for the economic and social well-being of the region.
