Ranking of the world's best airlines in 2024 unveiled

07-06-24

When you plan a trip, you can't guarantee that your flight won't be delayed, that your suitcase won't get lost or that you won't have a nightmare situation. But you can ease your discomfort when things go wrong by choosing an airline brand you trust.

Travel on Qatar Airways doesn't always go as expected-12 people were injured on a flight from Doha to Dublin that hit turbulence on Sunday-but the Qatari flag carrier consistently ranks high in global airline rankings.

Now, after relinquishing its 2023 crown to Air New Zealand, it has once again been named the world's best airline by Australia-based product and air safety ratings agency AirlineRatings.com.

Its annual Airline Excellence Awards evaluate airlines using 12 criteria including safety and product ratings, fleet age, profitability, serious incidents, innovation, future fleet orders and passenger feedback from multiple sources. The jury, composed of five editors and led by Geoffrey Thomas, editor-in-chief of AirlineRatings.com, has more than 100 years of industry experience.
