Miami Airport to offer rest areas for connecting and delayed passengers

07-07-24

Wait N' Rest has received approval to install rest centers in the north and south terminals of Miami International Airport. These spaces will be equipped with beds, Wi-Fi, power outlets and noise cancellation systems for connecting and delayed passengers.

In the middle of last month, Miami-Dade commissioners approved the contract with Wait N' Rest, a South Florida company, to operate two rest centers at the airport. The facilities will be located on the third floor of the north and south terminals and will be available exclusively to ticketed passengers. Similar initiatives already exist at airports such as Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, Charlotte Douglas International Airport and Philadelphia International Airport.

Room rental rates will range from $30 to $60 per hour, allowing travelers to rest in a controlled and comfortable environment. Each room will measure approximately 3.16 square meters and will feature soundproof walls, beds or sofas with clean bedding and pillows, air conditioning, charging ports and Wi-Fi.

In addition, the rooms will include auto check-in and check-out systems and remote temperature control, offering a comfortable and modern experience for those who need to rest before their flights.

This agreement is part of a broader plan to improve the facilities and services at Miami International Airport, seeking to provide greater comfort and convenience to travelers.
