Gloria Guevara Manzo, one of the most influential figures in the global tourism sector, has made official her candidacy to assume leadership as Secretary General of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO). Backed by the Mexican government, her nomination underscores Mexico's commitment as a global tourism power and Guevara's unique experience in the industry.

With more than 35 years of experience in tourism and technology, Gloria Guevara has demonstrated her ability to generate significant changes in the sector. Her tenure as Mexico's Secretary of Tourism between 2010 and 2012 left a mark by implementing the “National Agreement for Tourism”, a comprehensive strategy that boosted Mexico as a competitive destination on the global stage.

In the international arena, Gloria Guevara assumed in 2017 the presidency of the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC), where she led initiatives to address the COVID-19 crisis, including the development of safe travel protocols and collaboration with governments around the world.
