Belize launches digital system for travelers

03-12-24

Belize has implemented a new digital immigration and customs declaration system for travelers entering and leaving the country through the Philip Goldson International Airport. The system, which went into effect on December 1, 2024, allows travelers to complete and submit required information online prior to their trip, with the goal of streamlining entry and exit processes.

During an initial three-month phase, both digital and paper forms will be accepted, allowing for a gradual transition to a fully online process. Officials have urged the public to use the digital option and to provide feedback to help improve the system. In the second phase, the system will be rolled out to all points of entry in the country.

This development reflects the Belize government's commitment to modernizing travel procedures and improving the traveler experience. With the peak tourism season approaching, this transition is expected to reduce and eventually eliminate the need for paper forms, ensuring faster and more convenient immigration and customs processing for all travelers.

Travelers can access and complete the digital forms prior to their trip through the following link: https://belizetravel.immigration.gov.bz/Belize_Digital_Forms/ .
