Entrance tickets to Machu Picchu could be purchased through a virtual platform

Tickets to Machu Picchu and the Inka Trail could be purchased through the new virtual platform tuboleto.cultura.pe, both for individual and group visits required by travel agencies.

The sales modality would be carried out virtually with the registration of the visitor's identity card number. The Ministry of Culture pointed out that this would be the best way to achieve a positive and programmed visit, avoiding the excessive accumulation of people at certain times, but above all, the measure will allow the purchase of tickets in an orderly and planned manner.

Once the new sales process is fully operational, this would be the only means of purchasing tickets. Agencies would be able to purchase or reserve tickets for groups only upon presentation of visitors' identity documents and would have five hours to make payment. Entrance tickets to the Inka Trail would be purchased in the same way. The projection of visitors for the rest of the year is 270 thousand people.
