Uruguayan tourists in Argentina spent U$S 363 million in three months

More than one million people traveled to the neighboring country, 80.7% of outbound tourism. They spent an average of US$ 344.9 and 76.9 per day.

According to data from the Ministry of Tourism, Uruguayan tourists in Argentina spent US$ 363 million in just three months.

During the third quarter of the year, 1,052,341 Uruguayans traveled to Argentina, with an average stay of four and a half days per person. This represents 80.7% of outbound tourism in the July-September period.

The average expenditure of each tourist in Argentina was US$ 344.9 and the daily expenditure was US$ 76.9. When measured in dollars, Uruguayans spent twice as much as in the same period of 2019, in the pre-pandemic.

By a distance, the second destination of choice in the period was Brazil, where 171,063 tourists went (13.1% of the total). They stayed an average of 6.9 days and spent a total of US$ 67,689,507, with an average expenditure of US$ 395.7 and a daily expenditure of $57.5.

In total, 1,303,405 Uruguayans traveled abroad in the third quarter, spending a total of US$ 561,814,137 million.
