Cadiz (Spain) hosts the Third International Congress of Nautical and Cruise Tourism

An important event for the sector in which the specialization of Andalusia as a luxury destination and the relationship with blue tourism will be key.

Cadiz will become in a few days the epicenter of the cruise industry worldwide. The city hosts the third International Congress of Nautical and Cruise Tourism.

A meeting to be held at the Parador Atlántico on October 19 and 20 focused on innovation, sustainability and collaboration between the nautical and cruise industries.

Among the objectives, those responsible for the organization, Suncruise Andalusia, have highlighted the specialization of Andalusian ports as a luxury destination and premium services, the use of new techniques to explore the cruise experience through neuroscience to know their preferences, and enhance the relationship between cruise tourism and blue tourism, with sustainability as a key tool for economic and social development of destinations and companies.

In addition, the increase of night calls in Andalusian ports, which is becoming key for the sector, will be studied at the working tables of this congress. The Port of the Bay of Cadiz achieved last year that 20 of the stopovers hosted at its docks were at night.

In the presentation of this congress and in terms of port infrastructure, the president of the Port of Cadiz, Teofila Martinez, said that next year the docks of the capital of Cadiz will be able to put the first light hookup for ships. A connectivity for which they have been working for four years.

The Cadiz shipbuilding industry will also play a leading role as an added value for the sector and space has also been reserved to address the improvement of the inclusive approach in ships and services.

Leaders of the cruise industry, tour operators, logistics experts, among others, and managers of the most important ports will meet in this third international congress organized by Suncruise Andalucía.

Cadiz will host the meeting after Seville and Malaga, with a work program designed to address the most pressing challenges and opportunities in the sector.
