The global wellness tourism market is thriving, with an expected substantial market size of $801.6 billion in 2020, which is expected to reach $1,592.6 billion by 2030.

This boom is attributed to the growing trend of people seeking travel experiences to enhance their wellness. India, in particular, is actively promoting itself as a medical and wellness tourism destination, and the Ministry of Tourism is taking significant steps.

To facilitate and promote wellness tourism, the Ministry has set up the National Medical and Wellness Tourism Board, focusing on medical, wellness and ayurvedic tourism.

Wellness tourism, characterized by the desire for a healthy lifestyle, stress reduction and authentic experiences, encompasses a variety of activities that promote physical, psychological and spiritual well-being.
