Turkey plans to reach 60 million tourists by 2023

With air travel virtually recovered in terms of demand after the 2020 crisis, Turkey is optimistic about the future of its travel and tourism industry.

A country that needs virtually no promotion at all, it is a holiday destination for people because of its living history, natural and urban beauty, in whose streets the past, present and future merge into a single image. For the current year, it has the ambitious goal of reaching 60 million visitors from tourism alone.

The goal is part of the country's public policy to position Turkey or Türkiye as a world reference. This year is a special one as it marks the 100th anniversary of the Republic.

The aviation industry and tourism are good examples of how the country is moving forward, despite the natural challenges and modern world. Its airlines such as Turkish Airlines, AnadoluJet, Pegasus Airlines or Sun Express, among a hundred airlines are responsible for bringing visitors from different parts of the world.

To achieve its goals, Turkey is implementing a strategy of marketing and promoting all segments of travellers. In addition, it promotes different destinations within and outside the country, whether they are of historical, congress, political, beach, commercial, leisure, health, ecological, adventure or sporting interest.
