Tourism and Society Think Tank in Miami presents some of the activities for the coming months

In the framework of the World Travel Expo - Miami (United States), held at the Airport Convention Center, the upcoming activities and programmes that the Tourism and Society Think Tank will develop in several countries in the Americas, Europe and Africa were presented.
It has been highlighted the celebration of the "Encounter in Antigua Guatemala" in October and the "Americas Tourism Summit" in the city of Miami on 15 and 16 February 2024.
With the presence of the President of the Tourism and Society Think Tank, Mr. Antonio Santos and the Vice President of the Steering Committee, Mr. Juan Maqueda (CEO of LatamOne), and accompanied by local authorities and entrepreneurs, several of the upcoming activities and actions that this institution will hold in several countries in America, Europe and Africa have been presented.
Among the activities presented, the following stand out:
Antigua Guatemala will host the celebration of the "TSTT Encounters".
During the press conference, Mr. Santos highlighted that in October one of the "TSTT Meetings" will be held in the city of Antigua Guatemala where international experts together with leaders of the national and local tourism industry will exchange experiences and proposals on issues related to the relationship between tourism, culture and heritage and whose themes are aligned with the tourism policy of the city.
In this important event, the international promotion of the city of Antigua Guatemala will be one of the objectives of the Tourism and Society Think Tank, whose programmed activities will be broadcast by videoconference to the whole world, while developing institutional and commercial relations between the participants.
TSTT- Directo", a cycle of online conferences (streaming)
Also highlighted was the activity called 'TSTT- Directo', a cycle of conferences or online (streaming), whose objective is to provide a scenario of knowledge, dialogue and debate, with the participation of international experts to reflect on significant tourism issues and other cross-cutting issues such as innovation, training, labour information and others, and is a pedagogical proposal that emphasises three main areas: tourism, innovation and development.
The 'TSTT- Directo' cycle of conferences will be held every fortnight from 14 September to 20 December 2023.
Americas Tourism Summit - Tourism Summit of the Americas".
Also, the international congress called "Americas Tourism Summit - Tourism Summit of the Americas", which is being developed in collaboration with the Adam Smith Center for Economic Freedom, belonging to the Florida International University.
The objective of this important event is to bring together ministers, authorities of tourism and commercial companies, and financial entities that support the development of the Americas in order to design coordinated tourism and commercial policies and strategies, to define the priorities of the tourism sector for the sustainable development and economic growth of the countries that make up the geographical space of the Americas, and to develop and promote a plan of action for the tourism sector that will attract investment.
In this important event, which will be attended by tourism authorities and leaders from the countries of the Americas, institutions and companies from Spain, Portugal, France and other countries with important cultural and commercial ties with the Americas will be invited.
The Forum of the Americas will also be presented, an independent institution that brings together the efforts and initiatives of the countries and leaders of the tourism industry and which aims to collaborate with the efforts made by the different actors involved in tourism development and, with constant activity, to generate spaces for the analysis of the situation and trends at regional and global level in order to face the challenges that arise; the choice of strategies to take advantage of the tourism potential of the Americas, as well as the adoption of institutionalised public-private partnerships for the social, economic and cultural development of the countries through the promotion of good practices to stimulate the growth of tourism activity and social development, based on the design and implementation of public policies.
Similarly, it is intended to favour the exploratory-descriptive qualitative study on the institutional capacities of tourism management to promote the design, development and implementation of tourism policies in the different territories, as well as to allow and/or consolidate a permanent work (observatory) on the development of tourism activity in the continent and the preparation of the annual Congress.
