Cancun to host the SPA & Wellness Tourism Summit 2023

The Mexican Caribbean is becoming a global benchmark for the wellness and wellness tourism industry, thanks to a multitude of events, initiatives and investments being made by the public and private sectors.
After a first half of 2023 full of events - such as the Latin American Spa Congress 2023, which took place on 26 and 27 May at the World Trade Center in Mexico City, or Expo Spa 2023, on similar dates and location - the Latin American Spa Association is launching the SPA & Wellness Tourism Summit 2023 on 23 August, an event that will showcase the main innovations in wellness and tourism at an international level.
To this end, experts from Europe and America will gather in Cancun, specifically at the Grand Oasis Palm Hotel, to present the cutting-edge topics that are flooding the sector, such as the protocols demanded by today's increasingly demanding tourists, or the tools to improve facilities and therapeutic centres.
Likewise, many authorities and businessmen will take part in discussion panels, "with the aim of providing information on regulations", according to the Latin American Spa Association.
Thus, the presence of figures such as Guillermo Marín Aguilar, one of the winners of the 2022 European Massage Championship and Director of Operations at the Otium Group; Jelena Ilic, a graduate in Kinesiology and Physiatry from the University of Serbia, who also has experience in Corporate Management in the Caribbean; Dumitru Raiescu, a medical technician in Physiotherapy and Specialist in Physiotherapy and Physical Rehabilitation; or Dr. Ramón de la Rosa Mera, consultant to the Ministry of Tourism for the National Spa Certification System and member of the Mexican Medical Tourism Advisory Board, among others.
As part of the SPA & Wellness Tourism Summit 2023, several certification courses will also be offered on 24 and 25 August. One of them will be the SPA & Wellness Management Certification Course, which includes the International Wellness Therapist Certificate with Curriculum Value endorsed by the Latin American SPA Association and the World Association of Wellness & Medical Tourism, recognition from Acturmex (Ministry of Tourism of the Government of Mexico), the SEP Certificate, digital material, access to the Summit itself, a B2B business round and several lunches.
On the other hand, there will be the Wellness International Therapist Certification Course, with the same benefits but oriented to a different specialisation.
The event will be supported by the Ministry of Tourism of the Government of Mexico and the World Association of Wellness & Medical Tourism.
