Argentina's Minister of Tourism confirms the recovery of inbound tourism in Argentina in 2022

The Minister of Tourism and Sports of the Nation, Matías Lammens, maintained that "during 2022" the recovery of inbound tourism began and highlighted that "more than 700,000 tourists have already arrived this summer.

"Now we have the great objective of reaching post-pandemic numbers, which will generate more foreign exchange and jobs in every region of the country," Lammens guaranteed.

He commented that "the surplus in the tourism balance is taking place in the context of the reactivation of inbound tourism, where our country is the regional leader together with Colombia. According to the latest official reports, more than 700,000 tourists have already arrived at our destinations this summer, with an economic impact of more than 580 million dollars".

According to the latest report from the National Directorate of Markets and Statistics of the National Ministry of Tourism and Sports, more than 484,000 trips by tourists residing abroad to Argentina during the month of December 2022, which implies a year-on-year increase of 321%, with more than 457,000 trips abroad by tourists residing in Argentina.

As a result, Argentina maintains a surplus in the tourism balance -one of the goals set by the Ministry headed by Matías Lammens- for the second consecutive month: 483,000 trips to Argentina by tourists residing abroad and 450,000 trips abroad by tourists residing in Argentina during November 2022 were recorded.
