Argentina could join American Airlines Vacations
12-09-22
As part of the tour of the United States by the Ministers of Tourism and Sports, Matías Lammens and Economy, Sergio Massa, the National Institute of Tourism Promotion of Argentina began meetings in search of increased promotion and interest from the world's major airlines. Lammens and the Executive Secretary of INPROTUR, Ricardo Sosa, met with the Product Manager of American Airlines Vacations, Liane Augustine.
Augustine announced the interest of American Airlines Vacations, the airline's tour operator, in selling packages to the Southern Cone and creating an online space exclusively for Argentina. In this way, they will seek to market in an integrated manner, including the sale of airline tickets and packages with accommodation, gastronomy, excursions and other services in Argentina through the entire sales unit of American Airlines Vacations.
Ricardo Sosa said: "We have noticed a rapid recovery of the US market with levels higher than the world tourism entities. From January to July we recovered 49% of tourists from that market compared to pre-pandemic levels, and in the last four months, the average recovery was over 70%. American Airlines Vacations is critical because of the large amount of potential tourist traffic that the website receives and buys through them. Having a prominent presence on their homepage will help increase inbound tourism from North Americans".
The product manager also indicated that they will strengthen the "leisure" and "Mice" products in Argentina, due to the profile of their clients interested in travelling to our country.
The meeting was held at the Embassy of the Argentine Republic in Washington and was also attended by the Secretary of the Embassy, Carlos Humberto Múscari and the Director of Markets of INPROTUR, Oscar Suárez.
